Black 1930 GPO 162

this entry has 0 Comments/ in For sale, For swap / by britphones

There is just a handful of 1929-1930 GPO 162 phones which still exist and which are made to the same early GOP 162 specifications as this phone.

From the photographs you will note that the base is stamped GPO S30 and has a GPO 162 circuit diagram on the inside.  You will also note the matching GPO S30 handset.

I have not even polished this phone as I want to leave it all original, but you will notice from the photographs that the quality of the bakelite/urea is more grainy than that of the later 162 phones.

This phone was one of two featured on Ebay from a Canadian seller many years ago.  Unfortunately this one has a very small crack on the right side.  This is available for swap but not for sale!
